You guys, I just need to start by saying how much I absolutely LOVE what I get to do for a job. I mean, getting to witness one of the coolest moments ever and capturing it to remember forever is just such a privilege every time I'm asked to do it. The birth of baby girl P was no exception.
I'm always blown away by what women are capable of handling, especially during childbirth. Jenna was a superwoman in the truest form. She labored all day long and had about worn herself out completely around 7:00pm (shortly after I arrived to the hospital). I could tell by her labor pains that for sure the baby would be here soon and Jenna did not give up. She persevered and had a QUICK active labor. (Hello, she pushed for MAYBE 5 minutes.) At 8:01pm, this beautiful family welcomed their perfect baby girl into the world.
When people ask me why someone would ever want their birth photographed, my response is always, why not? The emotions are something you could never re-create. The pain and struggle (thankfully) is something you can't just simulate. And that PURE JOY when you see and hold your baby for the first time, those moments when you can't wipe that silly grin off your face because this precious baby is now in your arms after you've felt her move and groove inside of you for 10 months. Those are just a few of the reasons why birth photography is so incredibly awesome.
An HGTV Fixer-Upper marathon was on. Chip & Joanna Gaines were there through the entire delivery. :)
